Preparing for Delivery

How to Get Your Site Ready for a Container Drop

A few minutes of prep prevents most delivery-day issues. Here's everything you need to know before our truck arrives.

Clearance Required for Tilt-Bed Delivery

Our delivery truck needs a straight, flat path with enough clearance for the tilt-bed to extend and roll the container off. Here's the minimum we need:

Container SizeRequired Clearance
20-foot container80 feet from end of unloaded container to front of truck
40-foot container100 feet from end of unloaded container to front of truck

Delivery-Day Checklist

  • Be on-site during the delivery window. Someone needs to guide our driver to the exact placement spot. Phone descriptions don't work — assume we've never been there. An on-site walkaround also lets us confirm the container condition with you before we leave.
  • Make sure the placement area is flat and level. If the ground isn't level when we arrive, we may have to reschedule once the site is prepped. A container that doesn't sit square may have doors that won't open and close properly.
  • Clear the path of low-hanging branches and brush. A tractor trailer needs clear vertical and horizontal clearance. Trim limbs back before delivery day.
  • Avoid soft or rutted ground. Tractor trailers don't do well in mud, deep ruts, or soft sand. A gravel, asphalt, or compacted dirt path is ideal.
  • Need to relocate the container later? We'll move an empty container for you during the rental period. The moving charge equals your initial delivery fee. We don't move containers with contents inside.

Common Questions

Clanton Container Delivery FAQ

Questions specific to ordering a container in Clanton. For our full list, see the homepage FAQ.

Can you deliver to farms outside Clanton, not just in town?

Yes — we regularly deliver to rural Chilton County properties, not just inside city limits. Tell us about your road and site access when you call and we'll confirm our truck can reach the spot.

Do you add fuel surcharges or hidden fees for delivery to Clanton?

No. Whether we're delivering the 25 miles up I-65 to Clanton or farther, we quote one flat, all-in number: for a purchase, that's the container, the delivery, and sales tax; for a rental, it's the container, delivery, end-of-term pickup, and sales tax. No fuel surcharges, no required insurance, no hidden fees.

Can I buy a container in Clanton, or only rent?

Both. We sell IICL and One-Trip grade 20-foot, 40-foot, and 40-foot high cube containers, and we rent from our IICL-grade fleet — all delivered to Clanton from our Prattville yard. Renting and buying are both common here; which makes sense depends on your timeline. See our rent-vs-buy guide, or call 334-320-7071 and we'll help you decide.
